Over 300 swimmers took part in the Douro Bridges – Porto & Gaia – Open Water 2025 competition, challenging and iconic event that brought together athletes and water sports enthusiasts for an unforgettable day of competition and community spirit. As a partner of this event, INSPIRE was honored to support a competition that celebrates not only athletic excellence but also the beauty and importance of our rivers.
The event took place on September 14, 2025, with races set against the backdrop of Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia, featuring a thrilling 4,000-meter open water race beneath the city’s historic bridges.
José Freitas, INSPIRE’s own swimmer gave a spectacular performance and secured first place in his category. His dedication, perseverance, and passion perfectly reflect INSPIRE’s mission of making waves – both in sport and in protecting our waterways.
